Egypt generally has warm or hot days, and cool nights. Temperatures can vary wildly, ranging from 6°C at night to 41°C during the day.
Egypt has only two seasons; a mild winter from September to April and a hot summer from May to August. The main difference between the seasons are the variations in daytime temperatures, being hot in winter and even hotter in summer!
When it comes to rainfall, on average Eygpt receives less than 8cm of precipitation per year. Most of this rain falls along the coastal regions but some inland areas can go for months and years with nothing then get sudden downpours resulting in floods. Generally though, if you are visiting Egypt you have little chance of rain and in the event you do get some, it probably won't last very long...

Throughout the year, sun protection is extremely important, especially for the fair-skinned. We recommend wearing a sun-hat when your outside, and if you forget to bring one don't worry, sunhats are made locally almost everywhere.
Your general clothing is important too, and you should try to bring items that are light and comfortable, 100% cotton is ideal. Also, hard wearing shoes are a must!
Of course sun cream is your best defense against harmful rays, and you will be thankful for having it with you in Egypt. Remember that children should use more powerful creams at all times, even when they are in the pool.
